Nutrition
When you are pregnant you need to eat between 100 and 400 more calories per day than when you are not pregnant.  When you are lactating you need an additional 500 calories per day.  Of course these additional and all of your calories for that matter should be nutrient rich.  Fruits, vegetables, legumes, grains, proteins, folic acid, calcium, and iron are all part of the essentials you and your baby need.

WaterbirthThe importance of fruit cannot be overstated.  Pregnant and nursing moms benefit from the vitamin C found abundantly in fruit.  There are thousands of vitamins and nutrients in each piece of fruit.  Our bodies need all of these nutrients as nature intended so it is more beneficial to eat a mango, peach, kiwi, or orange rather than taking a pill with man-made vitamin C.

It takes exactly nine (9) Waterbirthmonths to grow an avocado from blossom to ripened fruit. There are over 14,000 photolytic chemical constituents of nutrition in each one of these foods (modern science has only studied and named about 141 of them).
